CJ Group named title sponsor of PGA TOUR’s Dallas-area event, to be re-named THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson

The PGA TOUR, in collaboration with the Salesmanship Club of Dallas and global lifestyle company CJ Group, has announced a long-term partnership with CJ Group to become the new title sponsor of the PGA TOUR's longstanding Dallas-area event, which will be renamed THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson.

THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson will take place at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, from April 29 to May 5, 2024, as part of the FedExCup Regular Season. The champion of the tournament will be awarded 500 FedExCup points.

PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan expressed gratitude for CJ Group's long-term commitment to THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, a tournament that has contributed to the Dallas community and continued the legacy of Byron Nelson by promoting world-class golf and community impact. The Salesmanship Club of Dallas has hosted THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson since 1968, with the event generating over $185 million for charity. All proceeds from the tournament support Momentous Institute, a nonprofit that has provided mental health services, education, and professional training to children and families since 1920.

CJ Chief Marketing Officer Wookho Kyeong expressed excitement about the partnership and the opportunity to showcase a combination of history, dedication, and competitiveness in golf. CJ Group has been a supporter of the PGA TOUR since 2017, hosting Korea's first PGA TOUR event on Jeju Island, South Korea. CJ Group has also supported other PGA TOUR tournaments and brand ambassadors like Sungjae Im, Si Woo Kim, and K.H. Lee.

THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson has a rich history of past champions, including Tom Watson, Sam Snead, and Jack Nicklaus. The tournament moved to its current home at TPC Craig Ranch in 2021, with Jason Day winning the 2023 event.

The 2024 CJ CUP Byron Nelson will be televised domestically on CBS/Paramount+, Golf Channel/Peacock, and PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+.
