Like others in the field, he makes the short drive from his home near Las Vegas. It’s been a relatively quiet season but he hasn’t slumped, either, having traded two top 10s and another three top 25s with just four missed cuts.

He is who we thought he is, but now he has belief in the same. Fresh off a solo seventh at the Sanderson Farms Championship – his first top 10 in 28 months – where he led the field in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee.

After a lull, the Kiwi fortified his FedExCup rank (102nd) with a T11 at the Sanderson Farms Championship. He finished sixth in both Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and proximity to the hole, so he’s warm upon descent in Utah.

Joins Korn Ferry Tour points leader Matt McCarty in the field, except that McGreevy won’t be a rookie in 2025. He just placed T7 in that circuit’s season finale and second overall in points with two wins, a second and three T3s.

Poised for his 30th start of the season – second-most on the PGA TOUR – but he’s 62nd in the FedExCup, so he’s still chasing the Aon Next 10. Strongest with scoring clubs that have generated four top 10s among eight top 20s.

Did someone say that ball-strikers step forward on unfamiliar greens? (More below.) But the Swede isn’t a one-trick pony. He’s a horse for the course despite inexperience. Ranks ninth in greens hit and second in scrambling.

Delivered on cue with a T11 at the Sanderson Farms Championship. It was his eighth consecutive payday worldwide and sixth top 20 since April. In his last 28 rounds on the PGA TOUR, his scoring average is 67.75.

Uh-oh. If this scorer starts heating up, he’ll burn brighter than the rust-colored vistas of the region at sunset. Although he finished but T23 at the Sanderson Farms Championship, he was among the many with four sub-70s.

The latest valedictorian of PGA TOUR University is poised to become a rookie officially with his 10th start of the season this week. With terrific driving and putting, he rose to 126th in the FedExCup with a T8 last week.

Came this close to breaking through at the Sanderson Farms Championship where tee balls cooperated until the pressure was greatest. Still, the playoff loss was the latest of three top 10s among six top 15s this year.

The rookie has signed for 49 red numbers this year – an extension of his scoring prowess on the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour – but he’s only recently felt the impact with top 20s in three of his last four starts dating back to late July.

While we can accept that he must have a special appreciation for winning the Procore Championship that he answered with a T11 last week, he’s still just 71st in the FedExCup, so more work is necessary to crack the Aon Next 10.

As long as the putter cooperates, of course he fares well when finding fairways is difficult. Co-led last week’s field in accuracy off the tee en route to a T3. Also ranked ninth in proximity and went 52-for-52 from 6 feet and in.

Reversed course at The Country Club of Jackson where he was 0-for-4 before last week’s close call. Although the T3 was disappointing given he led alone after three rounds, it piggybacked consecutive 12th-place finishes.

A quick study. It was at the debut of similarly challenging El Cardonal at Diamante last fall where he won the World Wide Technology Championship. Also placed T4 at the inaugural Myrtle Beach Classic. T12 in last start in Ireland.
