Qualifiers for All 2024 Signature Events, THE PLAYERS, and Majors

The first tournament after the last major of the year didn’t disappoint in sending its champion into multiple majors and THE PLAYERS Championship in 2025.
The week after Xander Schauffele won The Open Championship to go with his victory at the PGA Championship in May, Jhonattan Vegas captured the title at the 3M Open by one stroke. It’s his fourth career PGA TOUR win but first in seven years. It’s why he hasn’t been back to Augusta National for the Masters since 2018. That changes immediately.
Vegas now is exempt into next year’s Masters and PGA Championship via this latest victory. He’s also secured exemptions into THE PLAYERS Championship and The Sentry, the latter for which he hasn’t qualified since 2018.
The 39-year-old from Venezuela mindfully was mapping out his schedule this year while on a Major Medical Extension. When he arrived at TPC Twin Cities, he had 11 starts remaining, but now he’s fully exempt as a PGA TOUR winner through 2026.
A day earlier at Oakland Hills in Michigan, Trevor Gutschewski prevailed at the U.S. Junior Amateur. He defeated Tyler Watts 4 and 3 in the 36-hole finale. With the victory, Gutschewski earns an exemption into the 2025 U.S. Open provided he remains an amateur. And yes, he’s the son of 47-year-old PGA TOUR member Scott Gutschewski, who was with his son on Saturday after missing the cut at the 3M Open.
