Southern Methodist’s Enrique Dimayuga moves into top 10 of PGA TOUR University Ranking
Enrique Dimayuga, a standout golfer from Southern Methodist University (SMU), has made a significant leap in the PGA TOUR University Rankings, climbing 12 spots to No. 8 after his impressive runner-up finish at the Inverness Intercollegiate. Dimayuga's achievement comes after a stellar performance where he shot a 6-under 64 in both the first and final rounds, matching his career-low score. This performance adds to his already strong spring season, where he secured three consecutive individual titles while playing for the University of Nevada.
Dimayuga’s rise in the rankings is part of a broader reshuffling following the Inverness Intercollegiate. Several other golfers, including Vanderbilt’s Jackson Van Paris and Oklahoma’s Andrew Goodman, also saw improvements in their standings. Van Paris climbed to No. 4 after a solo sixth-place finish, while Goodman moved up four spots to No. 17 following his T7 performance.
The Inverness Intercollegiate was won by Jackson Koivun, the reigning Haskins Award Winner, who finished with a cumulative score of 9-under 198. Koivun, a sophomore at Auburn, has now accumulated 17 PGA TOUR University Accelerated points, bringing him closer to earning a PGA TOUR card. He needs just three more points to secure his place on the tour.
Despite the shuffling in the rankings, the top three spots remain unchanged. Arizona State’s Preston Summerhays continues to hold the No. 1 position, followed by UCLA’s Omar Morales at No. 2 and Auburn’s Brendan Valdes at No. 3. Summerhays has maintained his top spot with a points average of 1100.97 across 16 events, making him one of the most consistent players in collegiate golf.
The rest of the top five is rounded out by Van Paris at No. 4 and Illinois’ Jackson Buchanan, who moved up one spot to No. 5. Buchanan secured a solo third-place finish at the Inverness Intercollegiate, further solidifying his place among the elite collegiate golfers.
